A vague attempt to keep a diary of my theatre going for a year - not-quite-reviews, scribblings, enthusiasm and odd diversions (WARNING: spoilers abound).

Monthly Round-Up: June 2012
Whups. Where I knew in advance that May was going to be busy, June somehow snuck up on me, with an equally daunting 18 plays (20 if you count repeat trips). And, as it was also a manic month at work, I have somehow failed to make any notes to jog the memory. But let's see what I can remember.

Programme Re-homing Drive - CLOSED
Thanks guys, the programmes are all now successfully re-homed.
All right folks, as I'm going to be moving house... twice... during the Olympics (god help me), I've decided to re-home some of my programmes. I'm not particularly looking for money, though any donations are welcome and if I need to post the programmes I'd appreciate getting the cost back. Anyway, the list is below the cut, if you fancy any you can leave a note in the comments or DM me on twitter (@lorannah - ETA: If I don't follow you, feel me and I shall do, so we can sort out delivery). Thanks.

Monthly Round-Up: May 2012 part II
So second half of May and what a ridiculous (and excellent) month it's proved to be: 22 plays (plus one repeat trip) in 11 different languages, with 11 different Shakespeare plays and 11 people playing Richard of Gloucester (though technically one was in April). Which apparently makes 11 - and its multiples - the number sponsoring this month's theatre.

Monthly Round-Up: May 2012 part I
I've decided to split May in to two posts, partly to keep on top of the almost ridiculous number of plays I'm seeing this month and partly to fit in with the theme of plays followed by Roman numerals that I seem to have fallen into.

Monthly Round-Up: April 2012
In a first, I have actually got a month written up before I've started going to the next month's theatre. This is because May is, frankly, scary and I'm going to need the time to write it up as I go along. Anyway, April looked like...

Monthly Round-Up: March 2012
Late again. Can only blame the fact that I've been in something of a writing frenzy (of the fictional
kind) this last month and completely forgot I hadn't rounded-up March. Whups.

Monthly Round-Up: January 2012
As you may or (more probably) may not have noticed, this blog has rather dropped off the face of the internet over the last six months, beyond the occasional post. In the end it's proved too time consuming for me to write individual reviews and there's certainly no chance I'll be catching up. But I'm not quite ready to throw the blog away yet, so I thought I'd try doing some monthly round-ups of what I've been seeing.

Theatre Round-Up 2011: The Techies
This theatre round-up is brought to you by an excess of lucozade and a fever (sorry about that folks).
Firstly a quick note about the division between my technical and artistic categories – it’s basically rubbish. As the vast majority of the awards in this section are also highly artistic, whilst the awards in the artistic section are equally accomplished technically. But it keeps the sections down to manageable levels, so we’re just going to have to go with it.

Theatre Round-Up 2011: The Arties
The no less technical and no more artistic awards for my favourite performances and productions of 2011. The eagle eyed among you may notice a surprising absence of Shakespeare in this list (though he’s not missing entirely) - this is because to make my choices easier I’ve given him a separate post, coming up next.
Theatre Round-Up 2011: The Willies
I might have to disown anyone who didn’t see the title of this section of my round-up coming. Anyhow, Shakespeare always looms large for me in my theatrical misadventures, and this year I managed to catch around 40 different productions of the Bard’s work (depending on your opinions of the authorship of Double Falsehood and Cardenio). So to make life easier for myself, I decided to (mostly) separate the Shakespeare out from the rest of the theatre, otherwise I’d spend the rest of the next year dithering still.
Theatre Round-Up 2011: The Offies
I’ve left by far the most important part of my round-up to the end, the off stage awards. Like the rest this is full of inconsistencies, silliness and in-jokes. Ah well.
